P5) Lookbook

Here is my presented display of my online portfolio. I wanted to present my photos as an online lookbook similar to fashion retailers website design when advertising new clothing. I believe this is both aesthetically pleasing as well as fit for purpose as it matches the style expected from other fashion photographers.

Individual Photos

This photo is fit for purpose due to the angle of the camera. This straight on view centralling the brand and the name as well as the model looking distantly is quite a common trait in streetwear fashion photography.

Fashion photography is often used as advertisement and increasing excitement and sales for items. Commonly, shots do not reveal all of the item of clothing or only one colourway. This is in order to increase the excitement of the buyers, therefore this photo is fit for purpose as it hides some of the outfit, focusing on the idea of the shirt but also having other interesting scenes in the photo. 

I love this low angle view up towards our model, the whole outfit look is extremely striking and powerful. This is great when considering the advertisement side of the branding, as our model is setting a great example and looks impressive as a website cover. 

This low angle again is quite a strong photo. The way the branding sits with the blue sky covering over our model is extremely aesthetically pleasing and looks perfect against a white background expected to be used on the website.

Colour and eye attention is important in fashion photography. Models appearance is slightly important, but the way the clothes wear them is more so. The lovely blue contrast against this image gives it a fantastic pop and fits perfectly onto our website design.

When considering my original ideas in terms of themes i think this image is the most important. I wanted to have streetwear from both rural and urban environments come together, and contrast the opinion that it is only suitable for urban areas. This strong striking pose from the model and the glare of the clothes contrasting the forestry is extremely successful and fits well into my online portfolio.

Similar to the urban style low angle, i think this shot gives a perfect striking, dominating female presence which i think fits well into the purpose of my streetwear advertisement.
